Schedule Update

In case you were planning to see me at Tannins and Hops this week, I'll be there (this week only) on Friday instead of Thursday night.  Times are the same:  6:00--8:30 pm.  Then stick around for the fun musical stylings of Hot Sauce Universe!  619 A SW Water St. in Peoria.

An Exciting New Venue!

Here's some happy news for those of you who have missed my public restaurant appearances.  Since New Amsterdam closed, many of you have asked whether I would be appearing at another restaurant, and I'm pleased to say that beginning May 31, I'll be performing tableside close up magic Thursday evenings at Tannins & Hops, at 619 SW Water Street in Peoria.  Tannins & Hops is an authentic 1920's style speakeasy, with a "secret" location, a password required for entrance, and a casual, relaxed atmosphere that lends itself to conversation and socializing.

Tannins & Hops is essentially in the same building as Kelleher's, but it's side door entrance is a bit hard to find if you've never been there before (thus the "secret" location in the best "speakeasy" tradition!)  The building was actually used as a transport spot for illegal alcohol during prohibition, so the history fits the theme.  Once you find the door, you'll enter a small foyer, where you'll need to pull a rope to ring a bell, open a small iron window, and will be expected to give the password.

Inside are a variety of "re-purposed" items from the Peoria area, including a communal table made from an old bowling alley lane, Hiram Walker wood for the bar top, plush seats from the old Jumer's Black Bear Lounge, and even an 1867 jail cell (where you get confined if you try to come in without knowing the password--which, by the way, is "I hear this plays in Peoria"--but don't tell anyone!)

I'm thinking that the secrecy and exclusivity are a perfect setting for my magic, and I'm excited about the opportunity to share my close up magic with my central Illinois customers and friends once more.  I hope to see you there soon!

National Magic Week and More

Did you know that next week, the last week in October, is National Magic Week?  And October 31, in addition to being Halloween, is also National Magic Day.  It's a great time to enjoy the wonder of live magic.

If you're looking to get your magic fix, I'll be on 25 News Today this Thursday morning, and on Friday, October 28, I'll be performing tableside close up magic at White Oaks Sports Bar and Grill here in Canton.

Then the following day, Saturday, October 29, I'll be in Momence, IL for their annual Bordertown Hauntings Halloween event.

I hope to see you at one of these events.

Don't Miss Out!

Just a quick announcement that beginning next week I'm going to be taking a few weeks off from my normal Friday and Saturday night spot at New Amsterdam Restaurant in Peoria.  So if you've been putting off seeing me there, this weekend will be my last for several weeks, (and it might be your last chance to see me at the current location, which boasts what is to my mind the single most breathtaking view of the Peoria riverfront.)

(Shhhhh!  Don't tell anyone, but some exciting news about New Amsterdam will be announced in the not too distant future.  Stay tuned for more soon...)

And if you want to see me there before I take my break, better hustle down this weekend:  Friday and Saturday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.  My incredible, mind-blowing tableside close up magic is free to dining and bar customer.  Stop in and say "Hi!"

New Amsterdam This Weekend

Just in case you were planning to come see my tableside close up magic at New Amsterdam this weekend, I'll be there this evening (Friday, June 24, 2016), but not tomorrow night, as I have an outside engagement out of town tomorrow evening.  So tonight, but not tomorrow, Saturday night.  My regular Friday and Saturday schedule will resume next weekend.  Hope to see you there soon!

New Amsterdam Restaurant

I began working a new venue this past Friday evening:  New Amsterdam Bar & Restaurant on the Peoria riverfront.  And it went so well that we've decided to expand my schedule to Saturday nights as well.  So stop by Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 to 8:30 PM to see my astounding tableside close up magic in this exciting nightspot!

Fun at Big Racks

Just a reminder that I'm currently performing tableside close up magic at Big Racks Steakhouse in Canton, Monday evenings from 5:30--7:30 PM.  Great food, friendly service, astounding magic, and a terrific view out their span of picture windows!  Stop by for some fun.

Tonight is my monthly appearance at Tyroni's in Bartonville, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.  Saturday is my regular spot at Cherry Street in Galesburg, 7:00 to 9:30 PM.  And I've just learned that my Monday evening appearances at Culver's in Morton have been extended, at least through May, and possibly longer.  So, plenty of opportunities to get your magic fix.  Here's a shot of me recently having fun with the customers at Cherry Street.

Tonight's the night for February!  Come out to Tyroni's in Bartonville for great Italian food, inviting atmosphere, and mind blowing magic by yours truly.  Believe it or not, this month marks eight years that I've been performing at Tyroni's!  Time sure flies when you're having fun.  (And we sure do!)  Hope to see you there!

See Me at Cherry Street in Galesburg

I have a new close up magic venue on Saturday nights. It's the Cherry Street Restaurant and Bar in Galesburg, where I'm doing my strolling, tableside sleight of hand magic on Saturdays from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. It's a really fun place, and the owners, Lou and Stan Devlin are the nicest people imaginable, and they make everyone feel right at home.

Last Saturday was my first night working there, and my magic was a huge hit, and I had a great time.

I've also gotten some press coverage for being there, including an interview the other morning on WGIL Radio, and some upcoming newspaper spots. (I'll keep you posted on those as I know more about them.)

Anyway, it's a terrific time, so come join in the fun!

At the Whammy Bar Tonight!

Just a reminder that I'm currently working at the Whammy Bar in downtown Peoria on Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8 pm, doing tableside close up magic.

Stop by for dinner, they've got a surprisingly decent menu.

A couple of weeks ago, Councilman Ryan Spain was in with his lovely wife. They both had some really nice things to say about my magic. (Which actually means something coming from Ryan, as his father is a very talented magician, and an old friend of mine, Steve Spain, who owns The Costume Trunk.)

I won't be there next week on Thanksgiving, of course, so why not make it out tonight?
