The Arts Astound Me

I attended a meeting in Peoria yesterday for planning local activities during National Arts and Humanities month in October, and to focus around the opening of the new Riverfront Museum, also in October. Some exciting things are going to be happening, including an inspiring marketing campaign over the coming months, which I'll be helping to coordinate.

ArtsPartners of Central Illinois is spearheading the various planning, and one of the things we're trying to do is build a massive following on the ArtsPartners Facebook page.  So if you're on Facebook, and haven't done so yet, please "like" ArtsPartners on Facebook.

Here's a photo of me (showing the back of my head, don't you know), chatting with Kathy Chitwood, Doug Leunig, and a few other arts advocates at the meeting.

St. Patrick's Day at Cherry Street

Looking for a great way to celebrate St. Patty's Day? I have special hours this Saturday, March 17 at Cherry Street Restaurant and Bar. I'll be starting at 5 pm this week, since it's going to get really crazy there by my normal shift time.  But Cherry Street is offering special Irish fare on the menu all day long.  Call them for details: 309-344-4480.

The following week, March 24, we'll be starting my new spring/ summer hours of 7:30 to 10:00 pm, most every Saturday evening.

Tips on Corporate Events

Just came across this short article in a British newspaper on tips for planning a successful client hospitality event.  It's fairly simple, but has a couple good ideas.  It's titled: TIPS FOR ORGANISING A TOP CORPORATE EVENT.  Of course, I'd also add to their tips, the idea of finding outstanding entertainment to ensure your clients have an excellent time!

Workshop a Big Success!

A huge "Thank you!" to all who attended my Marketing and PR for Creative Professionals workshop at the Peoria Art Guild yesterday.  It was a big success, and I got lots of positive feedback from participants.  And a very special thanks to Suzette Boulais of ArtsPartners of Central Illinois in helping to make the whole thing happen, as well as Jenny Parkhurst at the Art Guild for arranging for us to hold it there!

Here's a shot of me during my talk, compliments of Suzette:
